Central Securities Clearing System Plc has unveiled a new suite of investor-focused services, headlined by the introduction of a Joint Account feature designed to simplify collaborative wealth management for families, partners, and co-investors.
The rollout highlights the company’s push toward innovation and a more transparent, efficient financial ecosystem, as it adapts to the evolving needs of today’s investors.
Speaking on the development, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Shehu Shantali, said the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the resilience and efficiency of Nigeria’s capital market infrastructure.
“Our focus remains on delivering a seamless and secure post-trade environment that supports market growth. These new offerings are designed to enhance investor experience through improved data access, faster transactions, and greater value creation across the ecosystem,” he said.
The Joint Account feature is expected to significantly expand both retail and institutional participation by allowing multiple investors to jointly manage and track their portfolios. The move responds to growing demand for more flexible and transparent investment structures.
Shantali noted that the feature enables families, business partners, and co-investors to operate shared investment portfolios more efficiently, aligning with the broader shift toward collaborative investment management.
Beyond this, the company also introduced Premium Investor Tiers, targeted at high-volume and active investors seeking more personalised services and dedicated support.
In addition, CSCS announced a major technical upgrade through the launch of API Access, which enables fintech firms, brokers, and other market participants to connect directly with its systems.
This integration is expected to automate key processes, reduce operational friction, and significantly improve transaction speed and reliability.
The company stated that the API functionality opens new pathways for innovation within the financial ecosystem, allowing institutions to build more efficient and responsive solutions on top of CSCS infrastructure.
As Nigeria’s central securities depository, CSCS provides clearing and settlement services for a wide range of financial instruments, including equities, corporate bonds, and mutual funds.
The latest innovations are seen as part of its long-term strategy to deepen market efficiency, expand participation, and reinforce its role in shaping the future of financial services in Nigeria.
