Delta Air Lines has officially launched its maiden nonstop service between Atlanta, United States, and Marrakech, Morocco, marking a historic expansion of the airline’s African operations and strengthening air connectivity between North America and North Africa.

The inaugural Boeing 767-400ER flight touched down at Marrakech Menara International Airport on October 26, 2025, inaugurating a three-times-weekly service linking Morocco’s cultural hub — often called the “Red City” — with Delta’s global gateway in Atlanta.

According to Delta, the new route makes it the first U.S. carrier to operate a direct flight between Atlanta and Marrakech, a development expected to boost business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between both nations.

“Delta’s new nonstop service to Marrakech marks an exciting milestone in our commitment to connect the U.S. and Africa,” said Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s Managing Director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI) Operations. “This route opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant destinations, offering travelers an authentic cultural experience with the comfort, service, and connectivity Delta is known for.”

The Atlanta–Marrakech service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from the U.S., with return flights departing Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from Morocco. During the peak festive season — from December 18, 2025, to January 6, 2026 — Delta will temporarily upgrade the route to a daily operation to accommodate holiday travel demand.

The Boeing 767-400ER will feature Delta’s signature cabin lineup, including Delta One with lie-flat seats and chef-curated meals, Delta Premium Select offering extra legroom and elevated dining, Delta Comfort+ with additional space and priority boarding, and Main Cabin, featuring enhanced amenities, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members, and access to over 1,000 hours of in-flight entertainment.

Delta described the new service as part of its broader effort to expand its footprint on the African continent. With the addition of Marrakech, the carrier now serves six African destinations — Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Marrakech.

Since debuting its first African service in 2006, Delta has transported more than 7.5 million passengers to and from Africa, underscoring its long-term investment in the region.

The airline also highlighted Atlanta’s position as the world’s busiest and most connected airport, offering one-stop links to over 125 U.S. cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco — effectively bringing Morocco closer to millions of American travelers.

Founded in 1925, Delta Air Lines is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The carrier operates more than 5,000 daily flights to over 300 destinations across six continents, maintaining its status as one of the world’s most awarded and customer-focused airlines.
