Baobab+ Rebrands as Izili, Strengthens Commitment to Last-Mile Energy and Connectivity in Africa Baobab, a prominent distributor of affordable solar energy solutions and digital access tools, has announced a new corporate identity under the name Izili, reinforcing its mission to bridge the energy and connectivity gap for underserved populations across Africa.

The unveiling took place at a media briefing in Lagos, where Kolawole Osinowo, Chief Executive Officer of Izili Group, explained that the rebrand follows BioLite’s acquisition of a controlling stake in April 2025. According to him, the transition signals a sharpened commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and measurable impact at the last mile.“Izili reflects who we are becoming a distribution partner dedicated to bringing reliable power and digital services to homes, entrepreneurs, and remote communities across our markets,” Osinowo said.

“With our strong network of field agents, we are positioned to reach areas often excluded from mainstream infrastructure, ensuring both products and technical support are delivered where they are most needed.”He emphasized that the new identity is not just a change of name but an expansion of vision, with plans to deepen operations in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, and Nigeria.“Our pledge remains to energize lives and connect communities,” Osinowo added. “Izili captures our ambition to illuminate households, empower small businesses, and open doors of opportunity for every customer we serve.”The company assured stakeholders, clients, and partners of continuity in service quality and technical reliability under the Izili brand. The rollout of the new identity will be phased across all markets in the coming months.
