Aradel Holdings Plc has strengthened its alignment with the Federal Government’s gas sector reforms and domestic energy policy by signing a Gas Supply Agreement to deliver additional gas volumes to Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG).

The agreement was executed through Aradel Gas Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, in collaboration with Shell Nigeria Gas and NNPC Gas Marketing Limited.

According to Aradel, the deal represents a strategic milestone that not only reinforces the country’s energy transition agenda but also supports government efforts to expand domestic gas utilisation, enhance energy security, and accelerate economic development. The company emphasised that natural gas has become a critical resource in diversifying Nigeria’s energy mix, reducing carbon emissions, and positioning the nation for sustainable industrial growth.

Aradel highlighted its long-standing commitment to infrastructure development, noting that it has consistently invested in facilities to unlock the value of its assets. Chief among these is its 100 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) gas processing plant, commissioned in 2012, which has enabled the company to process and commercialise gas resources for the domestic market. This facility, the company said, has played a vital role in supporting cleaner energy alternatives and ensuring steady contributions to Nigeria’s gas supply.

The company also drew attention to its strong environmental track record. It recalled that routine gas flaring at the Ogbele facility was eliminated as far back as 2012, reflecting its early commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. In addition, Aradel pointed out that it made history as the first non-joint venture (non-JV) gas supplier to NLNG, underscoring its pioneering role in Nigeria’s gas sector.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aradel Holdings Plc, Adegbite Falade, said the development aligns fully with both the company’s growth vision and the Federal Government’s policy direction.

“We are delighted to sign this agreement, which guarantees the supply of additional gas volumes to NLNG through the SNG-NGML partnership,” Falade said. “As the global and domestic energy landscape continues to evolve, natural gas remains central to our strategy for growth and to Nigeria’s wider transition to cleaner energy sources. At Aradel, our expansion plans are deliberately aligned with the Federal Government’s initiatives on domestic gas supply, the energy transition agenda, and leveraging gas as a key driver of industrial and economic growth.”

Falade added that the agreement reflects Aradel’s proactive role in building a resilient energy future for Nigeria, noting that the company remains committed to developing projects that provide cleaner energy, reduce environmental impact, and create long-term value for stakeholders.
