Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has reported a robust financial performance for the half year ended June 30, 2025, posting a revenue of ₦343.4 billion, a 41% surge from the ₦243.8 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.The performance, disclosed in the company’s unaudited consolidated financial statements filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, reflects a solid topline growth driven by intensified project execution and expanded operational activities.Despite a 48% year-on-year decline in profit before tax to ₦13.1 billion down from ₦25.1 billion in H1 2024

The construction and infrastructure giant recorded a 39% increase in profit after tax, which rose to ₦7.1 billion from ₦5.1 billion in the same period last year.Revenue in the second quarter alone reached ₦162.9 billion, representing a 23% increase compared to ₦132.9 billion reported in Q2 2024.Cost of sales rose by 38% to ₦283.4 billion in H1 2025 from ₦204.9 billion in the prior-year period, in line with the heightened level of construction activities. However, gross profit climbed to ₦60 billion, a 55% increase from ₦38.8 billion stating the company’s operational resilience.

Administrative expenses increased to ₦43.8 billion from ₦32.3 billion year-on-year, while impairment losses on trade and tax receivables declined significantly to ₦2.9 billion from ₦5.7 billion, reflecting improved credit risk management.Total comprehensive income for the period rose to ₦23.3 billion, up by 44% from ₦16.2 billion in H1 2024. Additionally, earnings per share improved to ₦4.34 from ₦3.54, signaling enhanced value for shareholders.

As of June 2025, Julius Berger’s total assets stood at ₦1.05 trillion, a marginal increase from ₦1.02 trillion as of December 2024. Total equity also strengthened to ₦363.9 billion, compared to ₦345.8 billion at year-end 2024, supported by revaluation gains and retained earnings.The company’s performance reaffirms its strategic positioning and resilience in Nigeria’s infrastructure development sector, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment.
