BUA Foods Plc has partnered with IMAS, a renowned Turkish manufacturer of flour milling equipment, to significantly enhance its wheat flour milling capacity to 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum. This collaboration will see the construction of four cutting-edge wheat and flour milling factories, with a combined capacity of 3,200 tonnes per day. This expansion will solidify BUA Foods’ standing in the Nigerian market and is part of a broader strategy to explore new markets since its debut on the Nigerian Exchange.
According to a statement, the new factories will bolster BUA Foods’ manufacturing capabilities, allowing the company to produce higher volumes of premium-quality flour, thereby contributing to Nigeria’s food security.
The partnership was formalised during a ceremony attended by senior executives from both BUA Foods and IMAS. Abdul Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Foods Plc, highlighted that this collaboration with IMAS stems from a deep commitment to enhancing food security in Nigeria. He remarked, “These new factories will significantly boost our capacity to produce high-quality flour products while creating additional job opportunities across the country.”
Rabiu further emphasized that this investment would enable BUA Foods to meet diverse flour demands with greater flexibility. Mustafa Ozdemir, Vice President of IMAS, expressed that the partnership aims to ensure more people in Africa have access to affordable and nutritious food.
