The West Africa Quality Education on Monday, July 10 recognised and awarded some selected schools for its strive in delivering quality education in Nigeria.
The event which took place at the beautiful Hall of Sheraton hotel, Lagos saw notable schools from all walks of life gathered to learn, interact and be awarded for its relentless efforts of seeing education amidst Nigeria children go excellent and global.
Mounting the podium to talk about the way forward for quality education in Nigeria as the guest speaker, Strategist and business Coast, Oak Interlink Company, Ernest Shaka, said that education is at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goal 4, of which all desk most be on ground to see that we support UN’s mission in delivering quality education in our nation such that will stand the test of time and compete with other nations.
According to him, investing in education, intellectual skill is far more better than physical skill. He explained that intellectual skill pays more because it makes one understand how first how to go about his or her physical skill, “Without education, one can not do much better in physical skills. Education shows you how best to do things and to do them in a unique way,” he said.
He urged Nigerian elites to also invest in the education of Nigeria as they invest in entertainment and the rest to produce more prominent people that will represent us outside as a nation.
Poriating to it, the chairman of the occasion, Director, Learning and Strategy at Business School, Prof. Joseph Mba urged school owners to employ more strategies and skills in other to develop the quality of education in Nigeria so that they can compete with the developed worlds.
Also, Educationist, Prof. Mike Dike, stressed the need for teachers, corporate bodies, communities, students, parents, teachers, body of directors to come together in driving quality education in the country.
Honeyland Schools, Lagos, Ave Maria schools Portharcourt , Command Day Ikeja, Lagos, Glowfield Portharcourt, Lekki Muslim schools Lagos, and many others received Award of Quality Education 2023.
